Got 3c and 4a hair? Pick both

By CurlCart ยท Updated October 1, 2026

Lots of heads have more than one texture going on. If yours sits somewhere between curly and coily, select both in the quiz. You don't have to pick one label for your whole head.

What picking two textures does

You'll see products listed for either texture. We rank first by how many of your chosen concerns a product is listed for. When that's a tie, products listed for more of your textures come first, then lower estimated prices.

Check the card

A product listed only for curly hair can still show up in Curly + Coily results. The card says which of your textures it matches. Some older hair-type tags are still our own suggestions rather than the brand's wording, so open the details before treating a match as the brand's recommendation.

A label can't tell us everything

The quiz doesn't know how thick your strands are, how much hair you have, or how your hair reacts to a formula. Use the results as a starting point. Your budget and any ingredient filters still apply to both textures.

Try things one at a time

When you test a new styler, keep the rest of your routine the same. Jot down how much you used and whether you liked the result. Your own notes are great for picking the next product, even though they're not a controlled test.

Here's exactly how matching and ingredient checks work.
